Winemaker Notes
The 2014 Chardonnay reserve expresses a rich creaminess on the nose interlaced with the aroma of honeydew melon and apples. On the palate, a noticeable oak character is present from extended aging in new and older French and Hungarian oak barrels. In order to promote creaminess in the wine, it was left on lees and stirred periodically. Additionally, the wine went through malolactic fermentation to convert malic acid to the more supple, buttery lactic acid. The finish of the full bodied 2014 Chardonnay Reserve is balanced by a refreshing acidity making this an excellent food wine. Enjoy now, but the wine will continue to evolve for the next several years. Serving recommendations: 50-55°F
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy with grilled or seared shellfish, roasted chicken, or sharp cheddar cheese.
