100% Chambourcin • 100% Virginia
Chambourcin is a French-American Hybrid grape variety developed in France in the mid 20th century. Known for its high vigor and disease resistance it is a popular variety grown by many vineyards in Virginia. Producing intensely colored and lighter tannin wines, Chambourcin is a useful tool for blending. It adds depth of color and fruitiness to any wines it is a part of. However, Chambourcin is not limited to being a blending component at Chateau Morrisette and we also craft a barrel aged varietal version of this cultivar from fruit grown in central Virginia. The soft fruit forward nature of our 2016 Chambourcin allows it to be enjoyed as a standalone glass of wine while its bright acidity allows it to be paired with a variety of foods. Serving recommendations: 60-65°F
