From a young age, Chef Oshie knew he was destined for the kitchen. At just 12, he declared his dream of becoming a chef, setting in motion a journey that would bring him back to his own kitchen and family business in Floyd, VA. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Chef Oshie traveled to Napa, CA, to train at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. There he worked alongside some of the world’s best chefs and immersing himself in the art of fine dining and wine.
His culinary adventures took him to renowned vineyards and iconic kitchens, including the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. where he further developed his love and artistry of southern traditions. After accomplishing his dream of becomming a chef, Chef Oshie returned to Chateau Morrisette as Executive Chef, bringing a new level of artistry and passion to the kitchen. Chef Oshie's commitment to elevated southern cuisine shines through in every dish, as he blends innovation with tradition and he and his team craft cuisine that's both beautiful and delicious.
Chef Oshie’s dedication to farm to table cuisine goes beyond just a philosophy; it’s a way of life for him and the Morrisette family. With ingredients sourced locally and a new initiative to grow fresh produce on-site, he and his team craft dishes that reflect the beauty and bounty of Virginia. From house-made pasta to corn grits ground daily, every meal is a celebration of fresh flavors and family heritage.
We invite you to taste the result of Chef Oshie's journey – a harmonious blend of tradition, innovation, and a deep connection to the land and family heritage.
The Chef's Dinner is a culinary journey. Be our guest for this exclusive event that is a gastronomical experience as surprising, as it is delightful. Every course is made with fresh, in season ingredients, expertly crafted by our Executive Chef Oshie Morrisette, Sous Chef Emma Blankenship and our skilled culinary team. The courses remain a surprise throughout the dinner until they are delivered. Each course is served with a paired wine that is introduced and described in detail. This experience takes place one night every two months, when we reserve the entire restaurant for just 20 guests.
