Production Notes
100% Virginia. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chambourcin. This rosé is made through a method called Saignée which translates to bleeding. A red wine gets all of its color and most of its flavor from contact with the skins during fermentation. In order to concentrate flavor, aroma, and color in our red wines we increased the ratio of skins to juice on the red tanks by “bleeding” some rose colored juice off of our red tanks. The happy result of utilizing this technique is both a lively, refreshing rosé and increased concentration in our red wines.
Winemaker Notes
Remove from refrigerator 20-30 minutes before serving. Drink in 2017 - this wine is made to be consumed young.
Food Pairing Notes
Vin Gris is an extremely versatile food wine. Try it with cheesy dishes such as Quiche Lorraine or a simple Margherita Pizza. Also pairs well with a broad spectrum of regional cuisines such as Provencal, Greek, Mexican, or Thai. Throw practically any vegetable, meat, or fish on the grill, and you’ll likely find that it pairs well with Vin Gris.

This wine is currently my absolute favorite and the only thing I want! It starts off lightly sweet and finishes crisp. It goes great with chocolates! And anything else really. I love it. I wish they sold it in stores with the other CM wines.
